Sunflower Backs

I made my first visit to the McKee-Besher Wildlife Management Area last weekend to visit the sunflowers. The view was spectacular! The field was lined with sunflowers, creating a sea of yellow as far as the eye could see. I was in heaven :)

The flower heads slowly began to turn away from my location. Instead of packing up and heading out, I decided to photograph this often ignored view. The bright green stem and detail against the contrasting yellow petals was quite beautiful.

Today's Friday Favorite is the unexpectedly beautiful backside of a sunflower!
