Back in July, I spent my birthday hiking at Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland. This national park is just shy of 90 minutes form my house and offers great hiking opportunities throughout the year.
There are fall color walks coming up this month! I highly recommend visiting to see the foliage if you live nearby.
- Falls Nature Trail – a 2.8 mile hike with a great view of Cunningham Falls (largest cascading waterfall in Maryland).
- Thurmont Vista Loop – my birthday hike :) A 2.5 mile trail offering views of Thurmont.
- Wolf Rock/Chimney Rock Loop – great mountain views.
- 8 Mile Loop – connects three major loops in the park for an 8.5 mile hike.
