The most tourist packed place in the Washington, D.C. area this time of year is the Tidal Basin. Cherry blossoms were at peak bloom earlier this week and let me tell you, the sidewalks along the water were filled with people from all over the world.
Despite the crowds, I try to make my way into the city every year to photograph the fleeting blossoms. In an attempt to avoid the crowds, my day starts before sunrise and most of my time is spent getting lost in the far away trees capturing macro and close-up photographs.
Naturally, a few monument filled captures are tucked away on my hard drive ;)
